With the imminent release of The new Aliens Vs Predator game upon us Rebellion had this to say on the Steam forums

"Rebellion are busy preparing the dedicated server for the Aliens vs.
Predator community. We hope to have a beta release with reduced
functionality out in the next few days and further updates to improve
functionality and fix bugs over the next few weeks. The files will be available to download from the “Tools” tab in the Steam client and will be a free download".

Extreme Game Servers was hoping to be able to offer Aliens Vs Predator dedicated servers right from the first day of the games release but yet again we are prevented from doing so by the simple fact that game developers seem to think it's ok to delay offering what we think is the PC's strongest gaming feature.

Needless to say that as soon as Rebellion get their finger out and get the promised "Beta" server files out in the community we will offer AvP. However it will all depend on what their statement about "reduced functionality" means. We are not prepared to offer a substandard service to our customers and as such will only offer dedicated servers for AvP if they offer what our customers need.

We've now finished our testing period for the new Teamspeak 3 Beta software and have ironed out the initial teething problems that always occur when using new beta release software. We are happy to announce that from now on all our game server packages come complete with Teamspeak 3 Beta servers as standard. Any customers who wish to use Teamspeak 2 instead can of course request this change.

Finishing our internal testing phase also means that we can now offer standlone Teamspeak 3 Beta servers while continuing to offer Teamspeak 2 standlone servers for all those customers who don't wish to upgrade to the newer software.

We have also decided to keep the price of our Teamspeak 3 servers the same as our Teamspeak 2 ones for a limited time, so now has never been a better time to get your own voice server from as little as £2 per month.

Go ahead, buy your new server today. We know you wont regret it.

Dedicated servers have now been confirmed for the February 2010 release date of Aliens Vs Predator on the PC platform!!!

If this game is half as good as their original version this is gonna be one kick ass game and one we will certainly be getting our grubby mitts on as soon as it's released.
